Photoshop includes various aids to help you modify your documents. They are all listed under View ^ Extras for convenience, though it may be argued that Selection Edges and Target Paths are much more than just Extras. Hair splitting apart, you can customize the Extras command by selecting View ^ Show ^ Show Extras Options and then choosing which of the Extras you would like to show/hide when you press the default keyboard shortcut Ctrl+H (Windows), (Mac OS).

If you are a long-time user of Photoshop and are used to Ctrl+H (Windows), (Mac OS) for hiding only the selection edges, try assigning the following keys (see Table 2-1) in Edit ^ Keyboard Shortcuts ^ View^ Extras. This way, you can hide all the Extras individually or collectively and keep your preferred shortcut for hiding only selection edges.
