Setting the Default Image Interpolation Method

Regardless of which of the five interpolation methods you use on a per-image basis, you can set one of them in Preferences as your default choice. Setting this preference can be very useful because the interpolation method is employed not only when an image is resized—which includes resizing content on a layer—but also when it is rotated (other than 90 degrees) or transformed. To set the default, open Preferences and in the General screen select a method from the Image Interpolation pop-up dialog box (Figure 2-40).
