6 In the Resolution field of the Document Size section, type either 72 ppi (to optimize for lower-resolution monitors) or 96 ppi (to optimize for higher-resolution monitors).

I'd try 72 ppi here.

Note how using 72 ppi reduces the image size to 102.5KB from 9.46MB. (You can view such info at the top of the Image Size dialog box.) I'd never use such a low-resolution image in print — a quick glance at the finished result (shown at the bottom of this page) will tell you why — but it could work just fine on the Web.
