Pointillize

This filter provides a randomized image with lots of little dots on it, produced by cell sizes that range from 3 to 300 pixels. The tricky part about using this filter is choosing your background color, as all the spaces between the dots are filled in with your current background color. Instead of using white, try soft pastels that won't overpower the tones of your image. Figure 8.28 shows the kind of effects you can get with the Pointillize filter.
