Finding Favorite or Hidden files

Album allows you to attach a Favorites tag, which identifies your most prized images, clips, and creations. The methods to use when searching with the Favorites tag are the same as searching with other tags (described above); however, the Favorites tag has preference in searches when it is used with other tags.

For example, if you drag both the Family and Favorites tag onto the Find bar, only those images tagged with the Family tag that also have a Favorites tag attached to them appear in the Photo Well. For full details on creating and using tags, see Chapter 5.

You also can attach a Hidden tag to files, as shown in Figure 8-18. Maybe you have a batch of backup images or mediocre shots that you don't want to view in your catalog. Whenever you search for photos, any with a Hidden tag are not found. In order to find Hidden images, make sure you select both your desired tag and the Hidden tag in your search. And of course, if all you want to find are Hidden photos, simply select or drag the Hidden tag alone.

If a bar in the timeline is part purple, it means that you have Hidden photos in that month, batch, or folder.
