Finding Photos by Caption, Note, or Filename

Maybe you're not into dates, but instead are more of a wordsmith kind of person. You're in luck. Album lets you easily find photos by providing a word or phrase that you used in an image's filename, caption, or note. You don't even have to use the exact phrase.

Maybe you only remember a single word. No problem — Album brings up any matches that use the word in the data related to the file. Here's how to find files using similar words in captions or notes:

1. Choose FindOBy Caption or Note.

The Find by Caption or Note dialog box appears, as shown in Figure 8-5.

2. Enter a word or phrase in the text box to find any files whose captions or notes contain that word or phrase.

The default option is set to match any part of any word in the caption or note. You also can choose to match only the beginning of words in the caption or note.

Any matching files appear in the Photo Well.

To find a file by filename, follow these steps:

1. Choose FindOBy Filename.
