Locating Images by Their Color

To find photos that have a similar color distribution, choose FindOBy Color Similarity with Selected Photos. But before you can use this command, you have to select one or more images (up to four) so Album knows what to look for. Don't select any creations, Album will just ignore them anyway.

If you choose photos that are extremely dissimilar, you are going to basically get the kitchen sink thrown back at you. Even when choosing a single image, sometimes Album locates images that are not really all that similar, as shown in Figure 8-15. I chose a nighttime shot of New York City as my search criteria. Expecting only dark images to be found, I couldn't quite understand why I got some bright daytime shots among the images.

With all the other great search criteria available at your disposal, I would skip this one if you're trying to save time.

You also can find similarly colored images by dragging a photo onto the Find bar.
