Using the calendar

You also can use the calendar to find photos by date. Of course, it is a good idea to know the approximate date of the photo(s) you want, or you may spend quite a bit of time clicking through images, depending on the size of your catalog.

It's extremely simple to find photos using the calendar. Here are the steps you need to follow:

1. Choose ViewOCalendar.

You also can click the Calendar button in the Shortcuts bar. The calendar window (shown in Figure 8-4) initially displays whatever photo is selected in the Photo Well or, if none is selected, the first photo in the Photo Well.

Previous month

2. Navigate to your desired month by clicking the Next month or Previous month buttons.

3. Click the desired day in the calendar.

The Calendar shows the first photo on that day. It also displays the number of photos or videos taken on that day.

4. If you select a day with more than one file, click the Next and Previous buttons to cycle through the images.

Or you can view a slide show in the calendar. Click the Start button to have the slide show automatically play.

5. After you've found your desired file, click the View button.

The image displays in the Photo Well in a Single Photo view.
