Using the timeline with tagged files

If using tags narrows down your search, but doesn't quite give you the exact images you are looking for, try using the timeline along with your tags. For example, say you're searching for images of family members taken around the holidays. Of course, all your pictures of family have a nice "Family" tag attached to them.

You could first do a search using the "Family" tag and then display the timeline and click in December bars to find winter holiday-related photos within the tagged images. Or you can drag endpoint markers to narrow the time range of photos you want displayed in the Photo Well.

Follow these steps to use tags along with the timeline to zero in a specific group of images:

1. Choose ViewOTags to display the Tags pane.

2. Drag and drop your selected tag onto the Find bar.

3. Drag the timeline endpoint markers to set the range you want to search.

All images with the tag found within the range of dates appear in the Photo Well, as shown in Figure 8-17.
