When drawing paths, use only as many anchor points as are necessary to create the intended path. Too many anchor points increase a file's size and can cause printing problems.

TRY IT To add anchor points to an active path, use the Add Anchor Point tool, found in the flyout menu for the Pen tool. After selecting this tool, click anywhere on an active path to add a straight anchor point in that location. To add a curved anchor point, click and drag.
To delete anchor points from an active path, use the Delete Anchor Point tool, found in the flyout menu for the Pen tool. After selecting this tool, click any anchor point to delete it.
TRY IT To save a path for future use, highlight the path in the Paths palette and click the triangle in the upper-right corner to reveal a flyout menu. Choose Save Path from this menu and assign a name to the path. After you do so, the path will no longer be referenced as a "working path" in the Paths palette. Instead, it appears under its new name.
To delete any path from the Paths palette, highlight the path and click the Trash Can in the bottom of the Paths palette.
