Because this chapter is print-specific, I recommend always creating your images at least at 300 dpi. This is an industry standard minimum for high-resolution output. Sometimes, particularly if you are working with line art, you will want to create the file at an even higher resolution (600 or 1,200 dpi). You will notice that your files become proportionately larger as you increase the resolution and the dimensions.
Select the color mode in which you will be working (CMYK, RGB, or Grayscale), and click a Content button (White, Background Color, or Transparent). Click OK when you are finished, and your new document window will pop open.
