If your Photoshop file contains text layers, GoLive gives you a chance to use the topmost text layer as a text variable before optimizing the slices. This means you can change the text on that layer before its slice is optimized. To do so, select the Use option, enter the replacement text in the text box, and then click OK. Otherwise, leave the Use option as is and simply click OK.
When the slices are imported, you can click them and edit settings such as link references and alternative text in the Inspector palette. Because this Photoshop file was imported as a "Smart" object in GoLive, any changes you make to the file in Photoshop will be updated in GoLive as well.
