The Align and Distribute commands only work on layers containing pixels of at least 50 percent opacity.

TRY IT To align elements on multiple layers, first make sure the layers are linked together by placing a link icon next to each layer name. Then, choose Layer I Align Linked and decide how you want to align the layers from the following flyout menu. Each option is described in Table 6-3.

Top Edges |
Aligns the top pixel of the active layer with the top pixel of the linked layer(s) or selection. |
Vertical Centers |
Aligns the pixel at the vertical center of the active layer with the pixel at the vertical center of the linked layer(s) or selection. |

Aligns the bottom pixel of the active layer with the bottom pixel of the linked layer(s) or selection. |
Left Edges |
Aligns the leftmost pixel on the active layer with the leftmost pixel of the linked layer(s) or selection. |
Horizontal Centers |
Aligns the pixel at the horizontal center of the active layer with the pixel at the horizontal center of the linked layer(s) or selection. |

Aligns the rightmost pixel on the active layer with the rightmost pixel of the linked layer(s) or selection. |
