When you group layers together in sets, you can also assign those sets a color. By assigning different layer sets different colors, you can further color-code your Layers palette and make it even easier to manage.
TRY IT To group related layers into a layer set, first make sure the Layers palette is visible by choosing Windows I Layers. If you don't have another layered document with which you can test this tip, consider using the Banner.psd document—like I am—found in the Samples folder of the Adobe Photoshop 7 folder. It's a good file to practice with because it has many layers already defined, none of which are grouped into sets.
