^Transform Objects into Three Dimensions

In the previous tip, I used the Spherize filter to make a snowflake appear to be painted onto a Christmas ball. However, that filter only enabled me to get the snowflake to be painted right on the part of the ball facing us. What if I wanted to make it appear that the snowflake was painted on the underneath side of the snowflake, and only part of it was visible in the photograph? The 3D Transform filter works great for achieving results like that.

These snowflakes were applied first with the Spherize filter, then turned with the 3D Transform filter

This snowflake was applied and turned using only the 3D Transform filter

This snowflake was applied with the Spherize filter and left unturned
