Using the Color Range command is similar to using the Magic Wand tool to select areas based on color. However, the Color Range command is a more precise way of selecting those areas because it lets you refine the selection without dealing with those sometimes pesky dancing ants.
TRY IT To use the Color Range command to select precise areas of color, choose Select I Color Range. Use the Eyedropper tool—which is chosen by default upon opening the Color Range command—to select the primary areas of color you want to choose. When choosing colors, you can click anywhere within the actual image or within the preview pane shown in the Color Range window (see Figure 5-11).
