A great benefit of text in Photoshop now is that you can scale, skew, rotate, distort, or change the perspective of text without compromising your ability to edit it as necessary. This means you can rotate a phrase to display diagonally across the screen—as I did with the text "To my love" in Figure 7-7—

and two weeks later come back and change a word in the phrase without having to retype the text or reapply the rotation.

The easiest way to apply all five of these types of transformations on text in Photoshop is to use the Free Transform command. However, you can also perform each of these transformations independently—as well as several others—from the Transform command menu (Edit I Transform).
