Create warped text

1. Click the Gourmet Bones Edition layer on the

Layers palette.

2. Zoom into the image until the magnification factor is 100%.

3. Double-click the Gourmet Bones Edition layer thumbnail on the Layers palette.

4. Click the Set the font size list arrow on the options bar, then click 12 pt.

5. Click the Create warped text button X on the options bar.

6. Click the Style list arrow in the Warp Text dialog box, then click Arc Upper.

7. Verify that the Horizontal option button is selected.

8. Change the settings for the Bend, Horizontal Distortion, and Vertical Distortion text boxes so that they match those shown in Figure 10.

9. Click OK to close the Warp Text dialog box, commit any current edits, then compare your type to Figure 11.

10. Use the Move Tool H on the toolbox to drag the type so it is centered over the logo of the bones as shown in Figure 12.

You transformed existing type into a unique shape using the Create warped text button. This feature lets you make type a much more dynamic element in your designs.

Click the Add a layer style button on the Layers palette.

Click Stroke.

Click the Set color of stroke button in the

Layer Style dialog box.

Verify that the Only Web Colors check box is not selected, then click the image anywhere on the maroon bone (at approximately 650 X/130 Y), as shown in Figure 13. Click OK to close the Color Picker dialog box.

In the Layer Style dialog box, make sure the Size is set to 3 px and the Position is set to Outside, then click OK. 7. Save your work, zoom out until the magnification level is at 50%, turn off the bounding box, then compare your image to Figure 14 and the Layers palette to Figure 15.

You added a Stroke style to the warped text and changed the color of the stroke using a color already present in the image.
