Creating an Audio Annotation

If you can't be there in person to deliver a live presentation of your image to a client or co-worker, an audio annotation is the next best thing. An audio annotation is a sound file that is saved within an image. This feature lets you use your own voice to describe exactly what you want to say. You create an audio annotation by using the Audio Annotation Tool on the toolbox.

When this tool is active, you click the location in the image where you want the annotation, then click the Start button in the Audio Annotation dialog box (Win) shown in Figure 2. Like the note icon, the audio icon can be moved within the image by dragging it. To play the audio annotation, double-click the audio icon, shown in Figure 3 or right-click the icon and click Play in the shortcut menu.

QUICKTIP

The ability to create and hear audio annotations depends on the hardware configuration of your computer. To create an audio annotation, you need a microphone and sound card. To play an existing audio annotation, you need speakers and a sound card.
