Recording an Action

When recording is active, the red Recording button on the Actions palette appears. The action set also opens as soon as you begin recording, to show all the individual actions in the set.

To test your actions, first you can create a snapshot of your image. Then you work on an action, make any changes, or record new steps. Use the snapshot to restore the image to its original state. After the image is restored, you can play the action to verify that the steps work.
