Selecting the Bounding

A bounding box, such as the one shown in Figure 1, is a tool you can use to control the size and proportions of existing type. You can display the bounding box by clicking the Move Tool on the toolbox, then selecting the Show Transform Controls check box on the options bar. After the transform controls (also known as the bounding box) feature is turned on, it will appear around type whenever a type layer is selected. As soon as you

Reference point click a handle on the bounding box, the dotted lines of the box become solid, as shown in Figure 2. At the center of the bounding box (by default) is the reference point, the location from which distortions and transformations are measured.

QUICKTIP

You can resize the bounding box to visually change type size instead of specifying point sizes on the options bar.
