Polar Coordinates

Rule number one: Give up on understanding the Polar Coordinates filter. Rule number two: Don't forget about it when creating backgrounds. This filter is designed to change an image or selection from its rectangular to polar coordinates, and vice versa, according to a selected option. Technically, it is designed to counteract shooting with curved lenses or mirrors; however, some cool effects can be generated.

When combined with other filters, the Polar Coordinates filter provides a nice way to "scramble" an image. This can be quite useful in creating backgrounds or patterns for use in video. This way the source image is unrecognizable, but the colors come through nicely.
