Using the Color Range Command

The most useful selection technique for filters is the Select

Color Range command from the Select menu.

Step 1. With an image open, choose Select>Color Range. The key to making a good selection is to use the eyedropper on the initial area you'd like to use to build your selection.

Step 2. Next, with Eyedropper Plus and Eyedropper Minus, you can add or subtract to the new selection.

Step 3. Adjust the Fuzziness to be more tolerant and form a smoother selection.

Step 4. Finally, click OK, and you can start to work with your selection.
